2026 minimum wage $1.750.905 set on a transitional basis

Decreto 159 of 19 February 2026 sets the 2026 monthly minimum wage at $1.750.905 (a 23% increase) on a transitional basis after the Consejo de Estado order of 12 February 2026 concerning Decreto 1469 of 2025.
For the employer
- Pay at least $1.750.905 per month.
- The decree applies from its publication until judgment in Consejo de Estado case 11001-03-25-000-2026-00004-00.
For the employee
- Monthly minimum wage: $1.750.905.
Provisional: Decreto 159 applies transitionally until the Consejo de Estado rules on the nullity case against Decreto 1469 of 2025, so the amount may change.

Sunday and holiday surcharge rises to 90%, 100% from July 2027
Effective 1 Jul 2026
Ley 2466 de 2025 (Article 179) raises the surcharge for work on Sundays and holidays to 100% in stages.
For the employer
- 80% from 1 July 2025.
- 90% from 1 July 2026.
- Full 100% from 1 July 2027.
For the employee
- Sunday and holiday work is paid with the surcharge over ordinary salary.

Night work now starts at 7:00 p.m.
Law of 25 Jun 2025
Ley 2466 de 2025 (Article 160) defines night work as work performed between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day.
For the employer
- Apply night-work treatment to hours worked from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

For the employee
- Hours from 7:00 p.m. count as night work.
